פְּגַעI, פְּגִיעַ ch. sam( Hif. הִפְגִּיעַ to cause suffering, afflict), 1) to meet. Targ. Prov. 17:12 (h. text פגוש). Ib. 29:13 (Var. פגיחו); a. e.Gen. R. s. 36, beg. פ׳ ביה שידאוכ׳ the demon Shmadon met him; Yalk. ib. 61; Lev. R. s. 5 פ׳ ליהוכ׳ (corr. acc.). B. Kam.99b פַּגְעוּ ביה … גברא R. K. and R. A. met that man. Ber.58b.
